Sam Schroeder is currently one of two high school choral directors at Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa, a position he has held since the fall of 2019. At Lewis Central, Schroeder directs two curricular treble ensembles, the annual spring musical and the auditioned treble-voice show choir, Company. Schroeder also prepares students, grades 5 - 9, for the Iowa Choral Directors Association’s (ICDA) Opus Honor Choir held at Iowa State University in November each year.
Schroeder is an active member of the ICDA, currently serving as the southwest Iowa regional chair as well as the Opus Honor Choir chair for the 7th/8th grade bass clef choir.
Prior to his position at Lewis Central, Schroeder was the K-12 vocal music director in Parker, S.D.
Schroeder holds a Bachelor of Music with a specialization in education from the University of South Dakota and a Master of Education in educational leadership from Doane University. He resides in Omaha, Neb. with his chunky calico cat, Tchai and enjoys travelling whenever possible, especially to his favorite place on earth - Colorado.
